OK, I'm not a slacker, but this has been such a busy year that blogging or anything in the realm of "fun" has pretty much fallen by the wayside. I've been busy busy busy with work and school. I got moved to 1st grade, which took up a lot of time, and starting grad school at the same time just made free time pretty much impossible! Also, my point and shoot camera is apparently dying of a broken sensor that I haven't taken to get fixed yet, and my card reader is missing for my SLR, so I couldn't upload anything even if I wanted to, with the exception of pictures from my phone. :-/
That being said, a lot has happened over the past almost year or so, so I'll try to take some time to update this blog a bit more to catch people up. Not that anybody reads it, but just in case...
The brief freak windstorm we got last August (which pushed back the close of school 2 days) also managed to pull part of the ugly awning off the front of the house, and along with it, some of the siding. Since the awnings were apparently not even attached to anything except the siding, I had them taken down. So much better than the broken awnings, but it does make my house look a little plain. I'll have to figure out something for the front!
There has also been some gardening going on around here. I've been trying to work on making sure I have lots of pretty flowers blooming year round... I haven't quite mastered this art yet, but here are a few of the flowers you might see blooming around here:
Red lilies- pretty, but short lived.
Pink dahlias are always blooming! :-)
I am convinced these are the worlds largest mums... seriously, these things are huge! When they are fully in bloom, they are gorgeous too!
Sorry for the crappy picture quality. These were from my phone so they'll just have to do for now.
So that's just some of what I've been up to for the last 10 1/2 months or so. I guess I'll find my card reader, and I might actually be back sometime before next June or so with another update!
