And then... I saw this beauty, and my life has never been the same. (OK, so it's been like an hour since I saw this fabric, but I promise, it's all I've thought about.)
I came across the most perfect fabric in this blog post from Freckles Chick, and honestly, I'm quite upset with her for not posing that this fabric existed sooner! But, wonderful woman that she is, there is a link on her post with a place where the fabric can be purchased. I promise, I have my credit card ready.
I suppose I should probably show you this fabric... it has stolen my heart at the moment. I only have eyes for this fabric.

Would that not look fabulous in my dining room?

(Please ignore the fact that there is still plastic on the chairs. It's a pain in the neck to get off. So it's still there. Also, ignore the fact that the curtain rod isn't actually hung up. And that the room is really plain and boring. This picture was taken several months ago and it doesn't look like that anymore!)
I guess I should mention that I'm a fabric-o-holic. Which is sad because I don't sew. :-) But I can't help but lust after it's bright colors and fun patterns! I really should invest in a sewing machine...
So, in all seriousness... can you see that fabric in my dining room? As a roman shade on my window and door? I value your opinion! :-)
Heck YES, I can see that fabric in your space (love your rug)!! It would look PHENOMENAL, in the form of drapes OR roman shades!! Either way, you can't lose w/ this fabric, I love it that much.
ReplyDeleteThe scale of the pattern is not too large, not too small. Just big enough so it wouldn't make you dizzy to stare at it, you know? The color in real life is pretty true to what's pictured (on my blog AND the amazon site pic). I'm sure you've already seen it, but so many bloggers have been creating "no-sew" high-end looking drapes by using hemming tape! And I do believe this geometric fabric would look fabulous.
Thank you sooo much for the link love, E! I'm sorry I didn't post about the fabric sooner. Ha! Bad FC. =]
It is SUCH a fabulous fabric! I'm so glad you posted it! I may take a trip to JoAnn Fabrics to see if they have a sample in one of the books or something. I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteI've totally seen all the really cool drapes and shades people have been making, and I'm so inspired. Even better that they are "no sew" because I can't use a sewing machine to save my life! :-)
Thanks so much for visiting my blog! I was so excited to see I had a comment, lol. :-)
Oh, and I should mention that I'm not really upset with you! :-) Not at all! That was a joke. But obviously a really bad one!
ReplyDeleteHello There!
ReplyDeleteI love the rug you have underneath your dining table - may I ask where you got it? My husband and I just bought our first home and are in the process of decorating - fun!
Thanks!!
Carol
love what you have done by the way :)
