Wow, it has so much potential!

My closing story, while probably not as awful as some, was pretty awful when it happened. It was quite a relief when I finally got the keys to my own home! It was a Friday night, and I went to my apartment first before heading over to the house... might be strange, but I wanted to send a picture to my parents because we weren't sure I was GOING to close at all! After I sent the pictures, I needed dinner! I bought some food, then took it over to the house to scope out the place.

When I posted the pictures on my Facebook, everybody said "Wow, it has so much potential." I am very well aware that potential= BIG OLD MESS. :-)

These are the pictures I took that first night, before I did anything to the place! Check out the big old mess! (I will mention that I ate dinner outside the first night...)

The bathroom... love the dirt on the walls!

Underneath the sink... obviously, there was a leak at one point! The previous owners even had stuff under this sink! There's no way I would put anything under this sink!

I LOVE the fan missing a blade... can't wait to replace that!

This is the living room. I guess an 80 year old woman lived here- look at those curtains! :-)


The front door- I can't wait to get some window covering for it! You can see directly in it and straight down the length of the house!


The fireplace! This is my absolute favorite part of the house!!! :-) Looks much better than before with no junk all over it!


This is the light fixture in the living room. It could be really cool if it were painted a different color or something!


This is what the baseboards look like- yellow, chipped paint... gotta love it.

Obviously, if you are reading this, you are probably a little tired of seeing pictures of the house in it's dirty state! Luckily, I wasn't going to live in this house in it's present condition! My next post will start to show the work I did to the house with help from family and friends! These pictures were taken over a month ago, and I can't believe how much work has been done in a month and a half, and how different it looks sitting here in the house versus what it looked like when I first looked through it and the first day I got the keys! :-)
